Alix Earle, an influencer, has taken to her Instagram to apologize and open up about a topic of conflict that is currently involved online.
When Alix Earle was 13 years old, she used a racial slur while answering questions on the ASKfm website.
Alix Earle Apologizes for Using Racial Slurs
This happened back in the year 2014, and someone who was going through her old posts recently gained access to it and circulated the screenshots online.
Reddit is now full of posts where Alix used a racial slur, and people online are not happy about it.
So now, Alix has released an apology for her actions and said,
“I am taking accountability and want to make it clear that I was 13 years old and did not understand the deeply offensive meaning behind that word. That is no excuse for using that word in any context or at any age. That absolutely is not the way I speak or what I stand for.”
Alix said that she made a big mistake as she used an offensive word and also mentioned that she was young as she was only 13 and did not understand what the meaning of the word was.
Alix also made sure that her fans knew that she does not talk or think that way anymore.
The racist word that she used was “N**ga” on certain occasions.
On a podcast named “Do We Know Them,” Jessi Smiles and Lily Marston claimed something about Alix’s lawyers.
They said that lawyers are suing the person who dug up the posts.
They also added that the lawyers have threatened to file a case against the person who dug it up for money laundering and copyright infringement, as the posts that were made by Alix have trademark rights by Alix.
Alix later confirmed though that none of them were true.
Alix Earle also said that she handled the whole situation very badly, and she took way too much time to open up about this issue and apologize to her fans quickly enough.
A user commented on the situation,
“Addressing the issue so late was silly on her part and she was wrong with what she said but she was also 13. It doesn’t make it okay but I don’t think it’s fair to judge someone for who they were at that age. I hope she really means what she says in her apology.”
Alix Earle also regrets that she stayed silent for so long before opening up about her story or explaining what happened to this issue.
Alix said that no one is to be blamed other than her, and she takes full accountability for what she posted in the past and is aware that she has changed as a human being.
