The war of words between Comedian Kunal Kamra and Bhavish Aggarwal continued, especially after Ola EV shares took a tumble and dropped by more than 8% earlier today. Comedian Kunal Kamra on Monday made a caustic comment and said that the Ola CEO worked on Sunday to prove himself wrong.
Ola Electric Mobility, the two-wheeler electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, saw its shares tank by 8% earlier today. It was the third day in succession that the shares of the EV manufacturer sank, and it has experienced a fall in five of the last six trading sessions.
Kamra said in a tweet,
“Bhavish Aggarwal, who thought Sunday should be a working day, worked yesterday to prove himself wrong…”
The spat between Bhavish Aggarwal and Kunal Kamra started when the former derided the company in a post on X and highlighted inadequate service centres and a lack of refunds for dissatisfied customers. The spat soon turned ugly when it was joined by CEO Bhavish Aggarwal, as well as frustrated customers and market observers.
Kunal Kamra’s Twitter Post Shows Ola Scooters Gathering Dust
The comedian had posted a picture of Ola Electric scooters gathering dust outside a dealership, probably due to a delay in getting service.
Bhavish Aggarwal lashed out on X and accused Kamra of taking money to publish posts that were critical of the company.
Bhavish Aggarwal wrote,
“Since you care so much, Kunal Kamra, come and help us out! I’ll even pay more than you earned for this paid tweet or from your failed comedy career. Ola is expanding its network fast and backlogs will be cleared soon.”
To this, Kamra responded and accused the CEO of being an “arrogant, substandard pr*ck.”
Aggarwal replied tauntingly,
“Chot lagi? Dard hua? Aaja service center. Bahut kaam hai. I will pay better than your flop shows pay you,”
Customer Complaints Glossed Over By Bhavish Aggarwal
However, Bhavish Aggarwal did not respond to the slew of complaints by irate customers and, as per a report, the Bangalore-based EV manufacturer has been receiving 80,000 complaints every month, a fact that was conveniently glossed over by Bhavish Aggarwal.
The ugly spat between the two has put the spotlight on a growing number of complaints about the company’s service. The company has been indicted for poor after-sales support, delay in giving refunds, inaccessibility of service centers, and other problems. Bhavish Aggarwal’s confrontational attitude has also led to scathing criticism by customers who have vented their frustrations on social media.
Many social media users took exception to the choice of words by both Comedian Kunal Kamra and Bhavish Aggarwal. Some also termed the choice of words by the Ola CEO as unworthy of a public personality.
Activist Deepika Narayan Bhardwaj stated,
“Money can’t buy customer satisfaction @bhash Maybe focus on that. Absolutely crass tweets. Invest more in helping clients than your EGO,”
Civil servant Sanjay Kumar stated,
“This is definitely not a way to respond to genuine grievances of customers. If you are not able to handle the quality of services then leave the job,
